Love you daddy...

In 2009, when Point England was about to go to the picnic, my auntie came and she was crying and hugging my brother and I very hard. We asked her why she was crying but she would not tell us. So she took us to her house.

When we walked inside the house we saw my uncle crying too. We walked up to him and we saw a piece paper that said my dad’s name on it and numbers. We asked my uncle why was he crying and then he said in Tongan “ Your dad has passed away”. Straight away me and my brother started to cry our eyes out. It was hard to believe so we asked if we could go and see him. So we did.

When we reached the hospital, we saw all of our family members there. When we hopped out of the car, they all came to me and my brother and started to hug us and then we started to cry again. We were all crying. When we were all calm we went to the room that he was in.

When we walked in the room we saw some more of our family members. As I walked in the room they all started to cry as they saw me and my brother. My brother told me to go in first. So when I walked in to my dad, I was crying again but this time I was crying louder and longer. I just felt like I could not stop. So then my dads sister ( My best auntie in the world ) came and said, “Come on, its alright, I will buy you something to eat.” It was hard to let go of him but I knew that it was the right thing to do.

When it was time to go home I started to cry again. But then I gave him a big kiss and said “ I love you”. The following days came and it was time to bury my dad. We all got a flower and I got to throw my one first. It was hard to let go but a voice inside me said just let it go, you will be fine, well something like that.

Now when everything finished I was crying my eyes out and it was hard to believe that he is gone. But now I have moved on but I still have him and always in my heart for ever and ever and I will never let him go. I love you daddy and I know you will watch over me. R.I.P DADDY

1st and final last Rugby league session...

Yesterday room 22 at 10.10am, had a rugby league session with a person called Sio Siua Taukeiaho. But he told us to just call him Siua. He plays in a team called 2011 Vodafone Junior Warriors squad.

The first thing we did was to split up into 4 teams. Then we did a warm up called in and out. We had to zig zag through the cones and sprint back. It was kind of funny because some of us just jumped over it but it was kind of fun. Then it was time to get serious. It was time for the challenge. It was hard to believe but we lost the challenge. Then the next thing we did was that each groups gets into a line and make space between each other. Then one person zig zags through us and then sprint back to make a try. It looked like fun and I just could not wait for my turn.

So far our group was losing just by 1 point. It was finally my turn. When I turned around Lepa was my opponent and 2 more people. Just then when were about to go I heard Ms Tito say if anyone beats Lepa gets a slice of my Pavalova. Then a saw Lepa geting ready. I was so scared that I might lose but I just have to believe that I could. When Siua said go, I ran as fast as I could. When I made it to the end then I sprinted as fast as could and then made a try. Everybody said that I beat Lepa. Then I turned around to Ms T and she said I also beat Lepa. I was so happy.

Now it is time for the last game and it was called kick tennis. The rules was to just kick the ball over there shoulders and not below and if the ball bounces on to your square the person that is the closest is out. Then it was time to play. When the other team kicked the ball, one of the ball went straight to me and then I tryed to catch the ball but I missed so then I was out. When more people was out, Lepa was the last one in the square but then he was out.

Then it was time for us to go. We all had fun but this is the first and final time we will have a Rugby league session with Siua.

The Science Roadshow...

Last week on Thursday, the 9th of June, the yr 7's and 8's walked down to Tamaki College. We were all in groups of 6 and I was one of the leaders. In my group was Tule, Beni, Miracle and Lesely. We went to Tamaki College to get a better understanding of our topic by watching the science Roadshow.

When we got there we saw a lot of cool exhibits but before we could even go there, the people at the front had to introduce themselves and they were from Fonterra. When they finished telling us the rules the let us go and explore the exhibits.

We all went to different exhibits but they all had a theme. Those themes were Detection, Heat, Communication, Levers, gears and Inclined Planes, Sound and Quirky Curiosities. In each theme there were a lot of exhibits like in Detection was Radistion, in Heat was colour and fire, in Communication was phones, in levers, gear and Inclined planes was piano and metal detector, in sound was birds singing on the computer, and magic hands and finally on Quirky Curiosities was a skeleton on a chair.

The theme and the exhibits that got me hooked was sound and the exhibit name was the Theremin. There are 2 plates and you hold one hand above each plate and carefully move the other hand on the other plat and move it around. 1 plate for volume and the other plate for pitch. It was fun to play with.

When I finished exploring this exhibits I had questions to fill in so we can tell Ms T what we have learnt. The questions were What was the exhibits name?, What did it look like? What was included in this exhibits?, What did the exhibit the exhibit do? What did you find out from this exhibit? and the last question was What science idea did it demonstrate? That was the hardest question of all because I was just busy wondering around.

Then it was time to go back to school. I had fun there and I now the other kids did too.

Swimming...

For the last 2 weeks the yr 7 and 8 went swimming at the YMCA at G.I (Glen Innes). Well for the first week we went swimming at 2pm and for the last week we went swimming during lunch time at 1.15 pm. We learn to swim because it could save our lives when we are in danger in the water.

I didn’t go swimming because I had a medical reason. Every time I look at them swimming I will always picture me in the pool swimming but that is only in my imaginary world.

Well as I said in the beginning we swim because it is very important. It is important because we are surrounded by water and our swimming lesson can help us save our lives when we are in danger.

I felt kind of sad because I missed all the session of how to swim. This is a good lesson because next time I will definitely go swimming.
