Market Day Reflections...

What did you enjoy most about Market Day?
The customers because there was a lot of them. We might make a big profit.

Not that well because we did not finish some of our project.

What was your role in the group and how well did you fulfill your role?
My role was to make bug jugs and I think I did just well but the thing was that I did not put any bugs or hole in it.

Yes I would want to do it again because it was fun and we coud keep our own profit next time.

MY ARTWORK...

For the last few weeks and months, We have been doing some amazing art work. Mrs M was the one who made up the idea of doing a secret art work. She was thinking that we would put our artwork in the hall so everybody could see it.

First of all we just had to draw some little critter like a butterfly, a spider, a bettle and a lot more stuff. I t was kind of hard for me to to draw all of those little critter because I am not really good at drawing but I tried my best. Now it was time to go to the next level. I knew that it will be harder then the one we were doing. We had to pick one of the little critter and I picked the beautiful butterfly.

When we have picked our little critter, we got a bigger paper and we had to draw our insect on it. It was really hard, so I just got the medium paper and drew my butterfly on it. I kept on making mistakes and I started to sweat like I was on stage. I was sweating because I was in a lot of pressure. i had finally finish drawing it and out lined it with a black vivid. It was time to move on.

I was finally up to the last level. I had to decorate around and inside it. I was kind of easy but it took a lot of time. I was just half way there and I was having a lot of fun. But finally I had finished. It took me plenty of days and weeks just to get this done. Hope you like my artwork.

NETBOOKS!!!

Yay, we have finally got our Netbooks. It was so cool looking and feeling it. When we went on fire fox, it was frustrating because it kept saying that it was a problem and we could not get in. When we finally got in our own google docs, we had to check our list of things that we had to do on our Netbooks.

When we had done a little of our to do list, we took a photo of ourselves. It was kind of weird and cool at the same time. It was so cool but the fun would end after 4 weeks. We got these Netbooks just to see if we could look after it and to know what to do when the day has come when we get our very own Netbooks.

Giant cockroaches...

Giant Cockroaches live in the Australian out back. You know when you have found a giant cockroach is if you see dry soil. Giant cockroaches live up to 10 years and the unusual thing is that there mother gives birth to them, not like a chicken who born’s there baby’s in a egg. The mother can only look after them for 2 months and the cockroach will live it’s own life by it’s self. They come out from the ground when it is only raining. If they come out in the sun it will dry out. The only reason why it comes out when it is raining, so it could mate and find it some food.

Jesse Martin...

Jesse Martin




Jesse Martin is a young sailor who travelled around the world solo. He sailed at the age of 17. He was pretty young to sail around the world. He is tough.

He has been planning this when he was 13 years old. He only had 2 hours to sleep because him and his father was busy packing Jesse’s stuff and testing out the equipment. Finally, his day has come.

There were about 300 people that came to say farewell. He thought that it was too much but it was worth it. He left on December the 8, 1998. Some people thought that he was braking a rule by sailing around the world solo in a young age. People could not wait for him to come back. He is really tough to go and sail around the world by himself. He went around the world for 1 year. But something happened. Jesse Martin came back a year later. Everyone was yelling his name. “ JESSE MARTIN “ !!!

He came back at January the 5, 1999. Every body thought that he would not make it, but look now, he is healthy and here. He is a hero to a lot of people now. He is a lucky boy.

The awsome FiaFia night...

Last term we had a FiaFia night. It was about representing your culture and other stuff. I was in 2 groups. The senior Kapa Haka group and the choir. I went the stage 5 times. That was because the Kapa Haka group went on stage 2 times and the choir group went on stage 3 times. We sang 3 songs. They were Octopus garden. Lean on me and our school song Strive to succeed.

When the Kapa Haka group got dressed they were ready to go. When we went on the stage, I looked at the audience and I got staged fright but I had to carry on and start smiling. When we finished our item, I had to go to my other group. When we went on the stage to sing our song i went a little off because I got scared. It was so scary but it was worth it. When we went off the stage, we went to the music room and watched the performencs. when it was our turn, we went on the stage again. We sang Lean on me. It was so cool because that was my favorite song. We went off again and went to the music room. It was our time to shine just one more time. We sang our last song and it was our school song. It was as great moment.

I wished we could rewind that day and do it all over again

My M.I results...

Today I took my M.I test. When I saw my results, I never knew I was good at music and word smart. I was so surprised. Some of the question were hard to understand but I understood some so that was good. I just need to improve on my picture and nature smart. I am so happy that I just cant stop smiling but that is only when I look at my results.

Holiday Highlight...

YAY !!! It’s the holiday. When I woke up, I was wondering what to do today. I was thinking for a very long time but when I was in the kitchen eating my breakfast, someone was knocking on my door. When I opened my door someone yelled to me HEY VICTORIA !!!. It was Helen Tui. She asked if you are not busy would you like to come Ten Pin Bowling with me? I was so happy because I have found what I am going to do today.

When I got all organised, we went to her house and played a little and then we had to hope in the car. When we were in the car driving to the Ten Pin Bowling, we just couldn’t stop laughing. We had $20 each so we thought that it was enough for us to play one game.

When we got there, we jumped right out of the car and ran inside. When we went inside, there was a lot of people there but it was okay. We looked at the game area and we went to change our money to tokens. It was so cool playing these games but the bad news was that we spent all our money’s on the games besides playing one game of bowling.

We waited for Helen dad to come, so we can eat and go but he was watching the other people play and it made him laugh so he said to Helen “do you want a game of bowling with your friend” and we were jumping up and down and yelling YES YES YES !!!

When he went to pay we wore some of the shoes, and then ran to the place we were going to bowl. When we started to bowl, we weren’t that bad so we started to miss some shots so were sort of sad but at least it made Helen dad laugh. That was a great game of bowling.

When we finished playing it was evening and that mean we had the best time together and when we went back home my mum wanted to hear all about it. It was a long story to tell but she found it amazing. I can’t wait to play with Helen again.

My boring weekend...

On Saturday, I went to my uncle's house. When I walked in the door, my cousin came running to my arms. Sometimes she can be a little annoying but sometimes she is my little angle. I was having a great time with cousin but then the horror began. I had to babysit my other 2 cousins. What I like about them is that they love me but what I dont like about them is when there mummys go and they start to cry. So I have to run to the kitchen and make them a bottle so they can stop crying and go to sleep.

Once they go to sleep it is time for me to watch alittle t.v. Once there mummy comes come back they wake up so fast and they will crawl to them and start to laugh. There laugh is so cute. Once they have a little laugh with there mum, they would go run and play with the toys. But I think it was better than doing nothing so I think this weekend was not so bad after all.

Once they finish playing, you wont to the floor because the toys would be all over the place. Time for me to do my job. Then when it is over its time to change the smelly and dirty nappy. When im done that its time for me to go bath them. Then after that it will be time to put them to sleep.

I have been doing that for my whole weekends. So now you know how I feel, How do feel when you babysit like this all the time.

During life education.

A couple of weeks ago, The Life Education caravan came back to Pt England School. Room 20 was so excited to see Harold and Lynn again. When we went in the caravan, I could remember the old times when I was a little kid. We talked about smoking. I never knew that there ws so many bad causes when you take a smoke. You could get really bad cancer and did you know that 5000 people die each year. There are 4000 chemicals in a smoke and there are 200 chemicals that can cause cancer. When Lynn told us those things about smoking, I almost cried. Well not crying but maybe a little tear drop. Well if you know some other stuff about smoking, you can come and leave a comment.

Do you agree or disagree?

I agree that the drinking age for teenagers should be lowered from 18 years to 16 years because if you drink, you could get arrested in a young age and it can also effect your brain but if you lower the drinking age from 18 years to 16 years there will be another way that they could get an alcohol. The worst thing about people getting alcohol is that they waste there money on an alcohol but not on important stuff like food and water. For example, There was a rich boy who went to a rich school that stole a big bottle of beer that was sitting in his garage for over 20 years. He took it and he did something stupid. He went and he drank it. It poisoned his blood and his brain started to get damaged and then a bad thing happen. He died. It was sad but it was his fault. My Graphics

In Graphics we have been using Adobe Illustrator to draw our designs. We used all sorts of tools. some of them is called the shape tool and the pencil tool. We use it for drawing our design. There are alot more of tools to name. We also used the linear and radial and gradient. We use those tools to fill our design with colour. I also forgot to say that Miss Ferguson is an also a great graphics teacher. I also like her dance moves when she does something wrong. Its really funny. ( Ssh don't tell her.) This picture I drew was about the inside of the earth. This is my design 2. Have you ever used these kind of tools? comment me and let me know.

This term we had to take a photo of our face and we had to cut a half. then we have to draw the other half that we cutted out. When we have done that, we started to shade it. It was kind of hard for me to draw the other side of my head and then shade it. When I d finished that I took a picture of it. Now you can see what I have done. I hope you like my portrait.

The beginning of term, Room 20 my had made a personal shield and it is about ourselves.

1. My background has hearts all around my personal shield.
2. Hobbies- My hobbies were singing and I also like to eat chocolate.
3. Culture- My culture is Tongan but I made my own design.
4. Future- Well I drew a microphone because I want to be a singer and I am thinking that I want to be a doctor too.

Our tough Netball game...

This week on Tuesday, the year 7 Netball team had a game. The Aces played against Holy Cross. My team which is called Crew 2, we played against Baradene. The Aces had a great game against Holy Cross. The Aces won their game and the points were 13-10. It was finally our turn to play. We played on court 4.

We were kind of scared because we thought that we were going to lose but we believed in ourselves. When the buzzer started we didn't even know. So when we raced to our spot, we started to throw the ball around and it was hard for me to keep up with my partner. When we started to get some goals it was cool but when the other people started to get some we got so angry we kept getting contact.

I got so tired I had to swop with Julie. When Julie went on I almost lost my voice because I kept yelling to tell her where to go because it was her first time playing Center.

When the buzzer sounded again, I had to go back to being center. It was a great to be back because I missed playing my possiton. We almost got a shot but the buzzer went, so we lost the game but at least we played our hardest.

We did our best and now we just can't wait for our next game.

The trip to RainBows End

Last week on Saturday I went to Rainbows End with my cousins and my auntie. We went there because it was my aunties sons birthday. When we got there, we went on our favorite ride. It is called the bumper boats. When we went there, there was not that much people there. Me and my cousin was happy because we did not need to wait in line. When we went on the bumper boats, we did not know how to handle them. So the boat went around and around and around. When our time was up we were so dizzy that we almost fell in the water.
When we finished our ride we went on the fear fall. I was to scared to go on it but I went on with my auntie. When we went up high, I was scared and did I mention that I am scared of going up high. When we fell down I was screaming so loud that a bug flew in to my mouth. When we got down, I went off as fast as I could. When we finished doing that ride, we went on the log flume. When we went on in the log, we started to go in a cave. My cousin was like happy and when we went in, I was kind of scared. I was scared because there were elves in there and they keep popping up and down. When we got out of the cave, we went to another cave, but on there, were logs and jewelry.
It was kind of scary but not as scary as the other cave. When we got to the part we like we were so happy. Our favorite part was when you go down then the camera clicked. When we got off the we went on a ride called power surge. when you go on the seat, you will go up and you spin and your chair will move too. I had butterflies. when we got off I told the man to tell me to never let me go on that ride again. our next ride was the roller coaster. Once we got on I was so scared I would wet myself. When we went in to circles I almost spewed up. our ride was finished so I hoped off as fast as I could.
As soon as I got off, me and my cousin went go get something to eat. When we got our food, we followed my auntie to this birthday room. When we went in there, we started to eat like pigs. Our food was finished and we could on go on one more ride which it is the golden rush. It was so scary because there was another cart that was going to crash us. When our day was finished we had so much fun. When we got in the car we fell asleep. I would not want to forget this day.

Sina-bungy jump

As the man started to count from 10 to 1, I was shaking like a chihuahua. Once he said ONE! , I jumped off. When I jumped off, I was screaming so loud and had my mouth opened so wide that a bug flew straight to my mouth. Once I went down more, my heart felt like it was going to explode. I was scared because I thought that I was going to go in the cold water. When I thought that I was going to touch the water, I got scared again. I bounced 7 or more times. When I got back up I was happy that I survived and that I am still alive.

My Favorite uncles 21 birthday...

On Saturday it was my favorite uncles birthday. He was turning 21.My cousin and I had to do a hula for him and I had to learn a new dance just in one day. When my cousin and I had finished practising, we had to get in our costume. Our costume was amazing and my auntie made it. When we had done that we went to the hall at Otahuhu. That's where we had the party. When we got there my little cousin and I was scared to go on but lucky my older cousin went on. After that she went on stage and started to dance. I was hoping my little aunties would come quick because they had to be up on stage next. Just in time my aunties came and they went on stage as soon as they walked in the hall. When their song started to play, they started to shaking their hips and I knew for sure that they were better then me. When they had finished, they had heaps of money. My evil little auntie did the evils at me so I knew I had to be better then her. Finally it was my solo time and my time to shine. When I started to dance my top came off and I was embarrassed hard out but I kept dancing. When my song was finished I had 189 dollars and I felt like I was the happiest girl and that I beat my little evil auntie at getting more money. When the party was finished, I was so tired that I could just fall right to the ground. When I hopped in the van, my Nana told me to give my money to someone I never knew but my Nana knows her. When I gave her my money, I could only keep 20 dollars. I knew it was a waste of my time of dancing but at least I had fun. Thank you for reading. Bye!!!!

Urban beat

Urban Beat

When we were at camp, some people came to Pt England school . They were a dancing group called Urban Beat. When they came there was a cute little girl called Tasha and she was seven years old. She was a great dancer and she was awsome. When they had finished introducing them selves, they showed us how to dance. The dance they were teaching us was Blame it on the boogie. At first it was hard but then it started to get easy when we had listen. After that we did the whole dance and it was awsome. When we had done that we had a dancing competition. We got to get one of the great dancers and when we had done that we had to learn a little dance. We had to keep it simple and do eight beats. When we had done that we point to another team. When we started no one would point to us but when a team loses one by one there were one team left we challenged them and we were a tie. I think we did great. After that we learnt a dance to a song called Take your shirt off. It was a fast dance and it was pretty hard but I got the hang of it. When we knew some of the dance we had to get in our groups and do the dance moves but at the beginning we did a freestyle and then we did the dance. I think we did great. When that was done we had a dancing competition and I had no fear to go in the middle and dance. After that they had to go but we had fun. I hoped they could come back some other time.
